Body

PURPOSE:  Hold Public Hearing and Adopt Ordinance

DEPARTMENT: Planning and Development Department

CONTACT INFORMATION: Tyler Hauck, Director

INFORMATION: Motion 09/08/2026; File 26-18. PL2026-17. Currently when an application for a zoning text and map amendment is received, the City is required to post a Notice of Public Hearing according to the Charter. In addition, the same Notice is to be mailed to all parcel owners within 300 feet of the subject property.

This update will align this process with the Ohio Revised Code, which only require individual mailings when the property rezoning affects ten or few properties. This change would reduce unnecessary expenditures of taxpayer funds and conserve staff time, while preserving public transparency through required public notices.

FISCAL & STAFF IMPACT: N/A
