Body

PURPOSE:  Schedule Public Hearing and draft legislation

DEPARTMENT: Planning and Development Department

CONTACT INFORMATION: Tyler Hauck, Director

INFORMATION: PL-2026-17. Currently when a request to rezone a parcel is received, the City is required to post a Notice of Public Hearing according to the Charter and mail the same Notice to all parcel owners within 300 feet of the subject property.

The Planning Commission recommends changing the notification requirements so that when more than 10 properties are being rezoned as a part of a single application, a mailed notice to each parcel owner within 300 feet would not be required. Such requirement poses a significant burden on the City in terms of manpower, time, and cost to taxpayers. The City would still post a Notice of Public Hearing as required by the Charter.
