A RESOLUTION BY THE TROTWOOD CITY COUNCIL TO PROCEED TO LEVY A RENEWAL TAX IN EXCESS OF THE TEN-MILL LIMITATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF PAYING THE CURRENT EXPENSES OF THE CITY OF TROTWOOD, AS STATED IN SUBSECTION 5705.19(A), AS AMENDED, OF THE OHIO REVISED CODE, WHICH LEVY SHALL BE 5.75 MILLS AND IS A RENEWAL OF AN EXISTING LEVY OF 5.75 MILLS, TO RUN FOR FIVE (5) YEARS, PURSUANT TO SECTION 5705.19 OF THE OHIO REVISED CODE, AND DECLARING THAT THE QUESTION OF THE RENEWAL TAX LEVY SHALL BE SUBMITTED TO THE ELECTORS AT THE ELECTION TO BE HELD MAY 5, 2026.

INFORMATION: The next step in the statutory procedural requirements for having a levy placed on a ballot is to pass a Resolution to Proceed stating the City’s intention to proceed with the ballot issue.
FISCAL & STAFF IMPACT: The renewal of this levy is critical to the continued operation of the City’s General Fund.
RECOMMENDATION: Recommend Approval
