A RESOLUTION BY TROTWOOD CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO PREPARE AND SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO OPWC (OHIO PUBLIC WORKS COMMISSION) STATE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FOR PROGRAM YEAR 2017, ROUND 31; FOR THE WOLF CREEK SANITARY SEWER REPLACEMENT PROJECT.

PURPOSE: Approval from City Council to submit an application to OPWC for grant funding for the Wolf Creek Sanitary Sewer Project.

INFORMATION: Sanitary Sewer Line Replacement in Wolf Creek - The permanent repair/replacement of a breach in the sanitary sewer line located in the south branch of Wolf Creek in Trotwood. This project will eliminate three stream crossings and an inverted syphon.
These improvements will correct inadequate design to meet current engineering and City standards and reduce maintenance costs of lines that have exceeded their useful life.
FISCAL & STAFF IMPACT: Wolf Creek Sanitary Sewer Replacement - The total cost of the project is $756,773. OPWC grant funding for this project would be $567,580 or 75% and the City’s share would be $189,193 or 25%. The City’s matching funds will be paid from Storm Water Funds.
RECOMMENDATION: It is the recommendation of the Public Works Operations Manager that Council approve this resolution authorizing participation in the OPWC Capital Improvement Program Year 2017, Round 31
