 TITLE: Title

PRESENTATION TO TROTWOOD CITY COUNCIL REGARDING THE GIS AND LEAD & COPPER MAPPING - 3 minutes

Body

PURPOSE:  GIS and Lead & Copper Mapping will optimize maintenance, operations expenses, improve customer service and manage scheduling more efficiently. GIS is becoming essential to understanding what is happening and what will happen in geographic space. Once we understand, we can prescribe action

DEPARTMENT: Department of Public Works

CONTACT INFORMATION: Eric G. Baxter, Project Manager

INFORMATION: Geographic information systems (GIS) will allow the city of Trotwood to visualize, question, analyze, and interpret data to understand relationships, patterns, and trends. Zoning, Public Works and Economic Development are three (3) departments that will benefit tremendously. These departments will be able to track a great deal of activity that will afford Trotwood to be more efficient, make better decisions, improve communication and help keep better records. Public Works will be able to maintain water and sewer infrastructure and now allow us to track and monitor the recent enacted OEPA House Bill 512 section of Ohio Revised Code 6109.121, to establish requirements governing lead and copper testing for community and nontransient noncommunity public water systems

FISCAL & STAFF IMPACT: Enter the fiscal and staff here

RECOMMENDATION:  That the City Council, City Manager and Finance Director except the presentation and Grant Public Works authorization to continue developing mapping and data entry
