INFORMATION:  Dan is married to Beverly and they have 2 sons, Jared Donohoo (step-son / Deputy with MCSO), Kyle Heath and 4 grandchildren.  Dan’s Law Enforcement career spans over 36 years.  Dan volunteered with the U.S. Army in 1980 and attended / graduated from the Military Police School at Fort McClellan, AL., later serving assignments in Stuttgart Germany (VII Corp Hdqtrs) and Fort Stewart, GA (24th MP Company), with duties in Law Enforcement patrol, MPI (Military Police Investigations) and Personal Security (for General staff).  After exiting the R.A. (Regular Army) in 1983, he volunteered with the U.S. Army Reserves, serving until 1990. Dan moved to the Madison Township / Trotwood area after leaving the Army in 1983, and has been a resident of Madison Township/Trotwood ever since.  In 1984 Dan was sworn as an Officer with the Veteran’s Administration Police, working at the Dayton VA Center until 1990.  In October 1986 Dan attended the Police Academy at Montgomery County JVS and was sworn as an Auxiliary & Part-time Officer with the Madison Township Police Dept.   He transitioned to a Full time Officer in 1990 with MTPD.  In 1997 Dan was promoted to Sergeant and served as the Road Patrol First Watch supervisor until 2013 when he was transferred to the Detective Section as the Detective supervisor.  In Sept 2016 Dan was promoted to Captain and has served as the Operations Commander / Detective Supervisor.
