TITLE: Title
A RESOLUTION BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TROTWOOD, OHIO AUTHORIZING THE ASSESSMENT OF DELINQUENT CHARGES FOR THE REMOVAL OR DESTRUCTION OF NOXIOUS VEGETATION TO BE PLACED ON THE MONTGOMERY COUNTY, OHIO PROPERTY TAX DUPLICATE
Body
PURPOSE: To place assessment on property tax duplicate
DEPARTMENT: Planning and Development
CONTACT INFORMATION: Jung-Han Chen, Planning and Development Director
INFORMATION: Certain property owners failed to maintain real estate properties to meet the city’s standards and caused the city to abate the violations in a timely manner. This legislation is to place assessment of delinquent charges for tall grass abatement on the Montgomery County Tax duplicate to recoup the city’s expenses. Typically, this assessment information will be turned to the Montgomery County in August each year. Given the cost the City has dispersed abated properties and the number of properties on this list, it would be beneficial to submit this assessment to ensure the City’s expenses can be recouped as early as possible.
FISCAL & STAFF IMPACT: Minimal
RECOMMENDATION: Approve as submitted.
