A RESOLUTION BY TROTWOOD CITY COUNCIL ACCEPTING THE AWARD OF THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) FOR PHASE ONE OF THE OLIVE ROAD WATER MAIN PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO USE THIS $75,000 AWARD AS A PORTION OF THE LOCAL MATCH TO COMPLETE THIS PROJECT ESTIMATED TO COST $594,448.

PURPOSE: This resolution is needed to accept the $75,000 CDBG award from Montgomery County to be used toward the project completion.

INFORMATION: Due to aging infrastructure and the health/welfare of Trotwood citizens and employees, the City desires to upgrade the Olive Road water line from Main Street to Bradfield Place. This will include replacing valves and fire hydrants in the outlined area. To complete this project, grant funding was solicited and awarded.
FISCAL & STAFF IMPACT: $75,000 CDBG grant to be used with an OPWC grant on the Olive Road Water Line upgrade, Phase One with an estimated cost of $594,448.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that Council authorizes the City Manager to accept this grant to complete the infrastructure upgrade.
