A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE EXPENSES OF THE FAMILY REUNION WEEKEND AND AWARDS OF CASH PRIZES TO THE WINNER OF THE TROTWOOD SMOKE, SIZZLE, & SOUNDS BBQ CONTEST TO SERVE THE PUBLIC PURPOSE OF RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES AND COMMUNITY RELATIONS FOR EXPENDITURES NOT TO EXCEED $16,850.00.

PURPOSE: To award cash prizes to contest winners at the Smoke, Sizzle and Sounds BBQ Contest on, Saturday, September 28, 2019, as well as, expenses for the Family Reunion Weekend for Friday September 27 through Sunday, September 29, 2019. The festivities will be held at the Madison Park grounds at 301 S. Broadway that includes a parade, music, food trucks and a barbeque contest.

INFORMATION: Pork Ribs: First Place $500; Second Place $250; Third Place $175. Chicken First Place $500; Second Place $250; Third Place $175. Total= $1,850
FISCAL & STAFF IMPACT: A total of $16,850 will be funded through the Parks and Recreation Department 2019 Budget that includes expenditures for the Family Reunion Weekend events.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends Council to approve Resolution R19-82 in the amount of $16,850.00 for the Trotwood Smoke, Sizzle & Sounds BBQ contest and the Family Reunion Weekend events.
