 TITLE: Title

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DECLARE CERTAIN OBSOLUTE AND/OR SURPLUS FIRE & RESCUE DEPARTMENT EQUIPMENT AS NO LONGER NEEDED FOR A PUBLIC PURPOSE AND AUTHORIZING SAID PROPERTY FROM THE TROTWOOD FIRE & RESCUE DEPARTMENT TO BE DISPOSED OF SINCE THE PROPERTY HAS NO SALVAGE VALUE.

Body

PURPOSE:  To provide for the means to remove from inventory and declare surplus a variety of items from our current inventory/storage areas

DEPARTMENT: Fire/Rescue Department

CONTACT INFORMATION: Fire Chief Richard Haacke

INFORMATION: Enclosed is an extensive listing of equipment, parts, electronics, and so on, that have either reached the end of their service life due to parts availability or technology changes. These items no monetary value to the department or City.

All items will be disposed of using the proper procedure and paperwork.

FISCAL & STAFF IMPACT: The removal of the items has no impact on the operations of the Fire/Rescue Department as all items have reached useful life expectancy and have no monetary value.

RECOMMENDATION:  I would request Council for an affirmative vote to allow all listed items to be deemed surplus and allow the staff of Trotwood Fire/Rescue to be able to dispose of the listed items in any way determined to remove them from inventory.
